The Indian Premier League, or IPL, is a franchise T20 cricket competition. This guide helps you read a fixture and understand the basic score information. For Android app access, the button below takes you to this site’s download steps.
The IPL basics that make a scorecard readable
In a standard uninterrupted T20 innings, a side can face up to 20 overs. An over contains six valid deliveries. An innings can end earlier, and interruptions can change the scheduled length or target, so read the match status alongside the score.
- Runs describe the team’s score.
- Wickets describe dismissals. A score of 145/4 means 145 runs for four wickets.
- Overs record completed overs and deliveries in the current over. 17.2 means 17 overs and two valid balls, not 17.2 decimal overs.
- The target is the score required to win a chase; revised-target matches need the current target, not an earlier screenshot.
Check a fixture in a useful order
- Identify the competition and season. A cricket card is not necessarily an IPL match.
- Check the two teams, match date and venue.
- Confirm the displayed time zone. India Standard Time is UTC+5:30; a device or external service may display another zone.
- Read whether the match is scheduled, live, completed, delayed or abandoned.
- For a live game, check when the score was updated and whether the target or overs have been revised.
Use the tournament’s own website for current fixtures and official competition announcements. This page is an evergreen explanation, not a live score feed.
How this relates to COME

Common IPL questions
Is a fantasy score the same as a cricket score?
No. A cricket score records the match. A fantasy score follows the product’s own points rules. Do not transfer a points table from another app.
Does “live” always mean a video stream?
No. “Live” can refer to match status or an updating data display. A score or status label is not a video stream; broadcast availability depends on the service and its rights.
Can I rely on an old match screenshot?
Use it to understand the layout, not today’s schedule or result. Teams, times, match status and targets can change.
